I travel over an hour n 20 minutes to get here for me n my kids . I seriously never experienced amazing results and feel happy and not taken advantage of with prices after leaving jimmys salon . He’s very reasonable , talented , funny , free spirited artist !! Jimmy is flexible and open 7 days a week and this works for me bring a busy mom /student . I have been going to jimmy James for 4 years now n before that no one got my hair the way I wanted it n everyone charged outrages prices . I have been jumping from stylist to stylist the first 27 years of my life. I was referred to Jim by a friend and I can say I will be going to see him until he stops cutting hair or I move out of the state. Here's why:

I don't have to stress about what to do with my hair. He takes one look and knows what to do. He casts the vision, gives me an amazing haircut and guides me on what to do outside the salon to keep it looking good until next time.

James at Star Vibes has been my stylist for several years. In fact, I tell him that if I move he has to move too. When I first moved back to the area I tried a variety of salons. They were fine. Then I saw “organic” and thought I bet it will be expensive. But I tried it once, the hair color didn’t set my scalp on fire and the price was comparable to what I had been paying elsewhere. That was hook one. Then there’s James. When I first started going he would ask how I wanted my hair. My response was always the same, “I don’t care. It just needs to look good slept on.” Most stylists can’t handle this seemingly lack of direction. They don’t have the training or confidence to get to know me and make a decision based on what will look best for my face shape and what will work best for my lifestyle and occupation. James is the consummate professional and I always leave looking my best. With my busy life there are times I have washed my air and let it air dry on the way to work. If your vibe is a rollup, James can do it! If it's unicorn hair he's the man. Problems with a bad color job from another salon, he can fix it, may take a few visits though, it's not magic! I have been seeing James for years now, gosh it has to be 7 years already.
Let me start that I’m super picky with who does my color!!!!! And have had my hair damaged by many. James always does a great job.
I couldn’t see myself letting anyone touch my hair.
I’m also the one who calls last minute because I looked in the mirror and said “ I need my hair done” he has never failed to make a spot available. The organic product are amazing, I’m plant based vegan so that super important to me.
His place is amazing, clean, comfy, and very welcoming feeling!!!

I came to Jim by accident years ago crying for help after a different stylist in a different salon ruined my hair. Through the years - he has done it all for me - I had an organic perm when my hair were long - and it was amazing - no frizz, no broken hair. I went super short eventually - and the cut was superb. I work in corporate environment- and going really short was risky for me - but Jim did an amazing style. I get highlights in various colors on a regular basis - and my hair is always the color I want, never burnt, and super silky. He never pushes products on you - but if you do ask him for something - all the stuff he sells is awesome - and lasts a really long time.

He charges very reasonably, always available on shot notice in odd hours (I work downtown and a single mom - so need MUCH flexibility). And he is a very pleasant person to be around.

I will never ever go anywhere else again. And my boys - including moody teenager, love him and how he does their hair too....more
